if I had written it for the good ones
Jan Huub Julia Jimmy Mark glad
I'm among them Jan joking Huub
serious Jimmy holding forth Mark
quietly correcting the record Julia
leading her own young life we all
appreciate a moment among men
among many met in Amsterdam
and Remy Charlip passed away
at Zen Center San Francisco he's
a story almost public figure now
self-mythologized unlike these
modest Dutch who know they're
good but're only doing it to live
and give pleasure in being heard
thinking unfolding manifest art
in being who we have become
