I was in the other room. They told me about it afterwards. Judy had been up to Denver with her girlfriends, and they camped at a hot springs on the way back. After supper, they turned on and watched the sun go down with some cute guys in the tubs and paired up for the night, and she made the mistake of telling Bill about it when she got home. They always said they should tell each other everything, but that was the beginning of the end. She assured him it didn't mean anything: it was some kind of girl-jock ritual, nothing to do with him. But it was the first time either of them had done anything outside the marriage, apart from a little canoodling with former boy- and girlfriends. The door was open.
