beside the inundation of cities
everything else seems trivial
although I won't be here then
so it shouldn't matter to me
we're relatively safe on well
watered higher ground only
earthquake to worry about
and our own disintegration
so I can read about astrology
if I care and all the other
magazine concerns random
relief from the rising water

Hi, Michael. I have been thinking of Sundance, you, and Wolfgang lately, remembering those halcyon days when I worked as a receptionist and lemonade maker in the light booth and was delighted always by the freshness and brilliance of Sundance offerings. I especially remember the "happening," in which you cast me as a flight attendant in the theater-airplane. I believe someone did wheelies over the cars in the parking lot and certain people played ghost tennis while others watched TV in the nude. What a fun night that was. Well, of course you probably don't remember me, but I am happy to have found you online with your wonderful poetry and to know that you have been so successful in theater and playwriting and otherwise. With fond memories and best wishes, Barbara Jensen
