am I missing some significance long since sapped
meaning something to others means nothing to me
how does it matter that I have lost what I imagined
I did what was expected its factual basis to emerge
later faded softly into not so harmless make-believe
not even not existing not an idea just an old story
running on empty promises flattery accommodation
