Another Spring

nowhere to turn but words appearing on the screen indifferent to being read
is it Alzheimer's or indigestion a dinner too delicious loved at the moment
and regretted later is life like that we pay for our pleasures long afterward

what can I do that is not the same old thing
how can I be surprised by another spring
or anything that hasn't already happened

the buddha smiles because nothing matters
when you recognize what's really going on
surprised how often you hit the right notes
